Junction City, KY (March 25, 2015)
Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson has made the decision to cancel the 2015 season opening event scheduled for this Friday March 27
due to the weather forecast of unseasonable cool temperatures and the expected rains that are predicted to move through the area on Thursday
evening into Friday
“I hate to cancel an event this early, but with the predicted temperatures for Friday
evening, we were really left with no choice but to cancel the racing program”, stated track promoter Jerry Denson. “The race fans and race teams would be quite chilly and uncomfortable with the temperatures predicted to dip down close to freezing at race time, so we wait and start the our 2015 season on Friday April 3
”, added Denson.
The 2015 season opening event at Ponderosa Speedway is now set to take place on Friday April 3
and will feature the Ray Cook promoted Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals presented by Schaeffer Racing Oil in the 3rd Annual Spring Showdown, with Super Late Models racing for $4,000 to win. Also on the Spring Showdown racing event will be the track’s Pro Late Model division racing for $2,000 to win, sponsored by Jay Construction and Restoration. The Modifieds will race for $1,000 to win, while the KDRA Super Stocks will compete in the first-ever event for the American Dirt Allstars series, racing for $1,000 to win.
Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Jerry Denson is the track promoter.
