|Junction City, KY (October 23, 2016) Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jamie Stumph and co-owner Larry Redenivs are set to conclude the 2016 racing season at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” with a doubleheader of racing action and the opening night of that weekend will be on Friday November 4 with the 16th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial presented by Yeager Insulation that will pay the Super Late Models $3,000 to win.
For the Super Late Model portion of the 16th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial presented by Yeager Insulation, the event will be unsanctioned, however, officials with the Southern Nationals Bonus Series will be in charge of the ruling, officiating, and technical inspection portion of the Super Late Model portion of the program, with random tire samples being taken at any time during the course of the event. The track will be in charge of registration and transponders for the event, as there will be a $50 entry for Super Late Models and the normal track $10 transponder rental fee, all of which will be collected by the track.
The event is the opening night of a huge weekend of racing activities at Ponderosa Speedway. There will be an open practice night at the track on Thursday November 3 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., with gates opening at 4:00 p.m. and it is free to watch in the general admission area, while a pit pass will be $15. The 16th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Memorial presented by Yeager Insulation will take place on Friday November 4, followed the next evening on Saturday November 5 by the track’s 26th Annual Fall Classic presented by Caton Industrial Painting, paying $10,000 to win for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series sanctioned Super Late Models.
The 16th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial presented by Yeager Insulation will take place at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday November 4 and will feature the track’s Super Late Model division in a full program of practice, time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $3,000 to win 16th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial presented by Yeager Insulation A-Main event. Also on the racing program at the “Junebug” Memorial event on Friday November 4 will be the track’s Pro Late Models racing for $1,000 to win, Modifieds racing for $800 to win, KDRA Super Stocks racing for $750 to win, Stock Four Cylinders racing for $400 to win, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones racing for $100 to win. Of note, if there are less than ten (10) entries in the Stock Four Cylinder and/or Mini-Cup/Cyclone division, those divisions will run a feature event only, with Stock Four Cylinders 15 laps and Mini-Cup/Cyclones 12 laps). All divisions, with the exception of the Super Late Models, will utilize the practice/time trial combo format to determine heat race starting positions, while Super Late Models will have a separate time trial session. RACEceivers are mandatory for use in all divisions and transponder timing/scoring will be used and the transponder rental fee is $10. All drivers are urged to be at the track and signed in by 7:00 p.m.
The tire rule for the Super Late Model for this event will be as follows: Hoosier- 1300, 1350, 1600, LM40; American Racer 44, 48, 56. These compounds will be the only legal compounds for all four tires on the cars competing in the Super Late Model division.

Activities for the Friday November 4 Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial presented by Yeager Insulation racing program at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., with practice/time trial laps set to begin at 7:20 p.m., followed immediately by green flag racing. Tickets prices for the November 4 racing program in the general admission will be $20 for adults, while children ages 12 and under will be FREE. In the pit area, a pit pass for adults will be $35, while children ages 6 to 12 will be $15, with children ages 5 and under FREE.
In addition, two-day passes will be available for those individuals wishing to attend both the 16th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial presented by Yeager Insulation on November 4 and the 26th Annual Fall Classic presented by Caton Industrial Painting. A two-day general admission pass can be purchased for $40, while a two-day pit pass can be purchased for $70.
