Coffman, Ayers, Stewart, and Crusenberry Season Opener Winners at Ponderosa Speedway
Junction City, KY (April 10, 2015) After losing two events to Mother Nature, Ponderosa Speedway was finally able to gets its 2015 season opener in the books on Friday evening and feature event winners included Todd Coffman of Parksville, KY in Premier Integrity Solutions Pro Late Models, J.T. Ayers of New Haven, KY in Sweet Beans and Things Modifieds, Eddie Stewart of Manchester, KY in Lawson Tractor Sales and Service KDRA Super Stocks, and Scott Crusenberry of Williamsburg, KY in Hardees Mini-Cup/Cyclones.

Todd Coffman and Zane Powell would battle in the early stages of the 20 lap Premier Integrity Solutions Pro Late Model main event, with Coffman securing the lead for good on lap 3 and driving away over the latter portion of the contest as the 2014 track champion would score the victory in the Sharon Coffman owned Auto Connection/Self Service Storage/The Muffler Shop/Coffman’s Photography/Todd’s Body Shop sponsored #35 Rocket Chassis/GM604 powered mount.  Powell would take runner-up honors, while Gary Yeager claimed a third place finish.  The remainder of the top five would be Darrell Gaddis and Matthew Smith.  Nine entries would see Coffman as top qualifier at 14.744 seconds, with Coffman and Powell winning heat race events.

Jeff Watson and J.T. Ayers would race side-by-side for the lead from lap 4 until lap 11 of the 20 lap Sweet Beans and Things Modified main event, with Ayers taking the lead from Watson in turn two on lap 12 and driving away to the win.  Ayers, a former track champion in the class, drove the Don Ayers owned Boone’s Butcher Shop/Western States Crane/Snap On Tools/After Hours Body Shop/MVP Garden/Guy’s Building Supply sponsored #28 Bandit Race Car, Dale Meers Race Engines powered mount to the win.  Wade Rookard would scoot past Watson on a late race restart to claim second, with Watson taking third, while Joseph Husband completed the top four.  Five entries would see Ayers as top qualifier at 15.655 seconds and also win the heat.

Eddie Stewart would challenge Jamey Adams for the first two laps of the 15 lap Lawson Tractor Sales and Service KDRA Super Stock main event before finally snatching the lead away from Adams on lap 3 and driving on the division feature event win in his Matthews Well Service sponsored #119 Stewart Race Cars mount.  Adams would take second, while Derek Bottoms would hold off Jeremy Howard for third, while Bartley Grant would sneek into the picture with a fifth place finish.  Thirteen entries saw Adams as top qualifier at 15.987 seconds, with heat race wins going to Adams and Stewart.

The Hardees Mini-Cup/Cyclone division debuted at the track as well on Friday evening with five entries and Scott Crusenberry of Williamsburg, KY would take the win in the divisions 10 lap main event in the seat of his Crusenberry Motorsports owned Don Franklin Family of Dealerships/Tri County Wood sponsored #8 machine.  Jason Bell would take second, while Tim Crusenberry finished third, with Josh Dickerson and Michael Wallin, Jr. completing the rundown.  Bell would win the heat race for the division.

Super Late Models were scheduled to compete, but there were only four drivers with cars  in attendance and those drivers agreed to have open practice laps during various portions of the program.  They were Dustin Linville, Brad Neat, Timmy Taylor, and J.L. Muse.
