Ponderosa Speedway Issues Amended Tire Rule for Modifieds and KDRA Super Stocks; Tire Samples Also to be Taken
Junction City, KY (May 27, 2015) Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson would like announce the following amendments to the tire rule for the Modified and KDRA Super Stock division at Richmond Raceway effective immediately beginning with the racing program on Friday May 29.

Tires that will now be legal for competition in the Modified and KDRA Super Stock divisions will be as follows:  Hoosier A40, H40, and Hard; American Racer- Hard and Extra Hard.

The track will allow a burnoff period for drivers that have the Hoosier A40S compound tire.  Beginning with the racing program on Friday May 29, the Hoosier A40S can still be used, but can ONLY be used as a front tire on the car in both the Modified and KDRA Super Stock divisions.  Racers will have until the end of the month of June to use these tires up and after, the A40S will no longer be a legal tire to use in competition at Ponderosa Speedway.  Also, all tires must punch 54 cold when checked with a tire durometer.

In addition, random tire samples will be taken in all divisions that compete at Ponderosa Speedway and can be taken at anytime during a racing program.  If a tire sample is taken and a competitor is found with a chemically altered tire, that racer will be suspended from competition for three events and lose all track points accumulated up to that point in the season.  If a competitor is found illegal a second time, that driver will be suspended from competition at the track the remainder of the season.  Also, if a tire sample is taken from a driver’s car after a feature event, the prize money for the position in which the driver finished in the feature event will be held by the track until the tire clears testing at the lab.  Once the tire test is completed and the tire sample is determined to be within specifications, then the driver will be paid the prize money that goes with the position in which they finished.
