Ponderosa Speedway 2016 Season Opener Set for Friday April 1
Junction City, KY (March 27, 2016) Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson will open the gates to start the 2016 racing season on Friday April 1 at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” with a full racing program that will feature all five weekly divisions in competition.  

The 2016 season will get underway at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday April 1 with the track’s 44th Annual Season Opener that will feature a full racing program for Pro (Crate) Late Models (25 laps/$1,000 to win), Modifieds (20 laps/$800 to win), KDRA Super Stocks (15 laps/$500 to win), Four Cylinders (12 laps/$300 to win), and Mini-Cup/Cyclones (10 laps/$100 to win).  All divisions will utilize the practice/time trial combo format to determine heat race starting positions.  Transponders will be used for timing and scoring (can be rented at the track) and RACEceivers are mandatory for use in all divisions.  All drivers are urged to be at the track and signed in by 7:00 p.m.

Activities for the 44th Annual Season Opener at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday April 1 will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., with practice/time trials set to roll around 7:20 p.m., with racing taking the green flag at 8:30 p.m.  All times listed are EDT.  Ticket prices for the 44th Annual Season Opener on Friday April 1 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, with children ages 12 and under FREE, while a pit pass will be $30.
