Ponderosa Speedway Cancels September 23 Event; Big Daddy Classic Next September 30
Junction City, KY (September 4, 2016) Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jamie Stumph and co-owner Larry Redenivs will not return to action at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” until Friday September 30 with the Big Daddy Classic, paying $3,088 to win for Pro Late Models, plus $888 to win for Modifieds, $1,088 to win for KDRA Super Stocks, $488 to win for Stock Four Cylinders, and $188 to win for Mini-Cup/Cyclones. 

The event that was scheduled for Friday September 23 has been cancelled as track promoter wants to take some time to rework the racing surface in the turn one area.  “We hate to cancel this event, but I am going to have some more dirt brought in attempt to fix our problem on the frontchute and entering turn one that is upsetting the race cars”, stated track promoter Jamie Stumph.  “We are going to address the issue with some more dirt this week and work it in and we don’t want to rush this process and we are not going to race now on September 23, as I want to have the track in the best possible condition for the racers”, added Stumph.   

Ponderosa Speedway’s next event will now be on Friday September 30 and will be the Big Daddy Classic, paying $3,088 to win for the Pro Late Model division in a 50 lap main event.  The American Dirt Allstars KDRA Super Stocks will also be in action racing for $1,088 to win.  Also on the Big Daddy Classic racing program on September 30 will be Modifieds racing for $888 to win, Stock Four Cylinders racing for $488 to win, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones racing for $188 to win.  The Super Late Model division will not be in competition on September 30.  All divisions, except Pro Late Models, will utilize the practice/time trial combo format to determine heat race starting positions, while Pro Late Models will have a separate practice and time trial session.   RACEceivers are mandatory for use in all divisions and transponder timing/scoring will be used and the transponder rental fee is $10.  All drivers are urged to be at the track and signed in by 7:00 p.m. 

Activities for the Friday September 30 Big Daddy Classic racing program at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., with practice/time trial laps set to begin at 7:20 p.m., followed immediately by green flag racing.  Tickets prices for the Friday September 30 racing program and A-Main feature event information will be released in an upcoming press release.  Also, updated track points will also be released later in the week as well, as track points started new with new track promoter Jamie Stumph.
