Ponderosa Speedway Announces Mini-Cup/Cyclone Division Rules Amendments
Junction City, KY (March 27, 2017) Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jamie Stumph and co-owner Larry Redenivs would like to announce some rules amendments or the track’s Mini-Cup/Cyclone division for the 2017 racing season at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”.

The following rules amendments will be in place for the upcoming 2017 race season and are effective immediately, beginning with the season opening event that takes place on Saturday April 1, 2017:

1.)           Length of Cars- the cars can now be up to 126 inches long.
2.)           Carburetor- any stock appearing Honda carburetor is legal (no carburetor adjusters allowed inside the cockpit of the race cars).
3.)           Flywheels- the red or blue flywheel is legal
4.)           Shocks- any non-adjustable shock is legal (no Schrader valves allowed; $125 maximum per shock)
5.)           Weight- suspended chassis cars- 680 lbs. at all times; rigid chassis cars- 640 lbs. at all times (no weight breaks of any kind will be allowed)
6.)           Engine Tech- if a competitor wants an engine to be sent for technical inspection, it will be a $300 fee ($75 to send the engine to Tim O’Bryan at EES; $150 to inspect the engine; $75 to ship and return the engine to its owner).

Ponderosa Speedway will have an open practice for all divisions this Friday evening March 31.  The season opener at the track will take place on Saturday April 1 with the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Division Series paying $2,000 to win, along with the track’s Pro (Crate) Late Models ($1,000 to win), KDRA Super Stocks ($750 to win), Stock Four Cylinders ($600 to win), and Mini-Cup/Cyclones ($100 to win).
