Mother Nature Claims Friday Night Thunder at Ponderosa Speedway on May 5
Junction City, KY (May 5, 2017) Ponderosa Speedway was set to present the rescheduled Friday Night Thunder event on Friday May 5, however, rain throughout the day on Thursday and the forecast for more rain overnight and into the day on Friday, plus the forecast of unseasonable cooler temperatures for the day on Friday and into Friday evening have forced track officials to postpone the Friday Night Thunder event at Ponderosa Speedway. 

The Friday Night Thunder event for the KDRA Super Stocks has been rescheduled and will now take place as part of the Red Clay Bash on Friday May 26.

The next event at Ponderosa Speedway will now take place on Friday May 12 and will be the 2nd Annual Big Daddy Classic, featuring the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series Super Late Models in a $3,088 to win event.  The Pro (Crate) Late Models will also be in action and will race for $1,288 to win, along with Open Wheel Modifieds racing for $788 to win.  Completing the 2nd Annual Big Daddy Classic racing card on Friday May 12 will be the KDRA Super Stocks racing for $688 to win, Stock Four Cylinders racing for $388 to win, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones racing for $188 to win.

Activities for the 2nd Annual Big Daddy Classic at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday May 12 will see the pit area and general admission area gates open at 4:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., followed immediately by practice, Late Model time trials, and green flag racing.  Ticket prices for the 2nd Annual Big Daddy in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, with children ages 12 and under free, while a pit pass will be $35.
