| Junction City, KY (July 14, 2017) Ponderosa Speedway would present its inaugural Summer Shootout event for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series on Friday evening and Victor Lee of Danville, KY would see the checkered flag first and score the $2,000 victory. Other feature event winners included Michael Chilton of Salvisa, KY in Super Late Models, P.J. Feistritzer of Danville, KY in Pro (Crate) Late Models, Bartley Grant of Berea, KY in KDRA Super Stocks, Brandon Creech of Berea, KY in Stock Four Cylinders, and Dylan Rutherford of Corbin, KY in Mini-Cup/Cyclones. Victor Lee would score the win and the $2,000 victory in the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series Summer Shootout main event. Former track champion J.T. Ayers would claim a runner-up finish, while series points leader Josh Harris would finish third. Blake Brown and Josh Rice would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Gabe Menser, David Webb, Brian Shaw, Keith Smith, and Danny Schwartz.
Defending Super Late Model track champion Michael Chilton would pick up the victory in the Super Late Model feature contest. Three-time winner at the track this season Tripp Gerrald would settle for the second positon, while Greg Johnson would finish third in his first race of the 2017 season. Tommy Bailey and Connor Meade would complete the top five.
P.J. Feistritzer returned to action for the first time in a quite a while and would pick up the victory in the Pro (Crate) Late Model feature event. Gary Yeager and Wesley Brummett would finish second and third, with Zane Powell and Jeff Watson completing the top five. Rounding out the top ten would be Timmy Taylor, Derek Bottoms, Clayton Turner, Dustin Bradshaw, and Lane Meredith.
Bartley Grant would be victorious in the KDRA Super Stock feature contest. Robby Perkins would finish second, with Clarence Belcher scoring his best finish of the season with a third place effort. Josh Brock and Tyler Collis would complete the top five.
Brandon Creech would claim his first-ever Stock Four Cylinder feature win on Friday evening. Danny Winchester and Brian Moore would finish second and third respectively, while Jason Sizemore and Gunner Johnson rounded out the top five. The rest of the top ten finishers would be Chris Smith, Trace Wilson, Chris Noe, Brady Lear, and Dylan Stevens.
Dylan Rutherford would grab the victory in the Mini-Cup/Cyclone feature event as the youngster would outrun Jason Hinkle, Blake Brown, and Jason Hinkle, Jr. to the checkered flag.
